[ He's not sure if Vincent told him that he'd gone missing, or if Leo'd noticed. But the point is that Gilbert doesn't want to avoid the truth of what he's learned.

[Well, this is something. He's not aware of Gilbert's 'trip', but he knows there's something different. Otherwise, why would Gilbert contact him now?

It takes him a moment to answer the message, though. What should he say? For a moment he's temped to dismiss it: he knows about Gilbert's condition as Glen's servant, but as far as Leo's concerned, he still serves Oz and that won't change; they have nothing to talk about. But after thinking about it, he finally sends him a reply.]

Do you want us to meet?

Yeah... can we? I'll meet you wherever you want.

[He's not picky on location, it's just - something he needs to do.]

[There's a moment of silence as Leo thinks of a location. Should he make him come to his place? Vincent is working so he shouldn't bother them, but then, maybe a public place would be better.]

There's a park nearby, I'll send you the address.

[And he sends it as a text, just a moment later.]

[Gilbert goes without question and waits there on one of the benches. He lights up a cigarette while he waits. It gives him a little time to think about what he wants to say - no, more than that, he really ends up thinking about how to say it.]

[It doesn't take Leo too long to arrive, and once he spots Gilbert, he casually sits at his side. When he speaks, there's some curiosity on his voice.]

It's unusual for you to call, I wonder what happened. Should I try and guess?

[Gilbert frowns, nose scrunching a little. He could let Leo guess, but he's pretty sure it won't be long before they're on the same page.]

[He makes a pause, maybe thinking about it or maybe waiting for Gilbert to say something... or maybe it's some dramatic silence? Leo's smiling right now, although his smile doesn't reach his eyes.]

[Gilbert nods solemnly.]

Yeah. I remembered a lot of things.

[He suddenly feels like staring at his hands. Just that. Leo lowers his eyes and casually laces his fingers before talking again.]

[Leo might not be looking at him, but he continues to look at Leo.]

[Leo expected something like that-- at least like the first part of what he says. To Glen, Gilbert might still owe them loyalty, but as far as Leo's concerned, there's nothing tying him to Baskervilles anymore; if he wants to keep being Oz's servant he's in his right to do so, even if it makes them enemies.

That's why his eyes open wider when he hears the last part, and he raises his head and looks at Gilbert showing obvious surprise.]

['Why?' he wants to ask. Why me and not Glen? But he doesn't, because his words are still sinking in his mind.]

[It's a pretty complicated situation, and so the decision probably seemed equally as complicated. Gilbert himself doesn't know how to describe it easily.]

[But he tires, because if he's going to spring this on Leo he thinks he deserves at least an attempt at an explanation.]

We're not really friends, but... we're the same aren't we? You're my little brother's servant... and best friend. And someone my master would call friend.

So if there's anything I can ever do... you just have to ask.

[What Gilbert says sound reasonable, Leo thinks. His feelings are similar, after all, with being Gilbert his master's older brother; he doesn't wish him any harm (if things could go his way, they'd be allies, not enemies), and if there's something he could do for him as well... yes, he'd try to do it.

But now Leo has to think about Gilbert's offer.]
